Graphite EPS Raw Material, also known as Expanded Graphite Polystyrene (EGPS), is a modified plastic material that adds high-purity graphite particles and other functional additives to traditional Expanded Graphite Polystyrene (EPS). It is mainly used to produce high-performance insulation materials.
Graphite EPS raw material is a composite system of expandable polystyrene resin, foaming agent (usually pentane), and high-purity graphite particles, sometimes with the addition of functional additives such as flame retardants and infrared reflectors. Its key feature is the uniform dispersion of nanometer or micrometer sized graphite particles in the polystyrene matrix, resulting in a gray black or silver gray appearance of the raw material, which is different from traditional white EPS raw materials. It has the following characteristics: in terms of thermal performance, the thermal conductivity of graphite material is as low as ≤ 0.030 W/(m · K), which is about 20% lower than ordinary EPS, and the insulation effect is significantly improved. The fire-resistant performance of graphite EPS usually meets the B1 level flame retardant standard. Graphite particles can suppress flame propagation and improve material safety. Functional characteristics: Graphite EPS has a dual effect of infrared reflection and absorption. Graphite particles can reflect thermal radiation like mirrors, reducing heat transfer.
